MSU ITS provides the following services for students. For assistance with any of these services, contact the ITS Service Desk.

 

MSU's web portal, myState, offers single sign-on and easy access to university services such as Banner, Microsoft 365 (including Outlook email), Canvas, and more. Access to myState is available at my.msstate.edu.

MSU students use Microsoft Office 365 for their University email. Microsoft 365 email is accessible through the Microsoft 365 link in myState or by logging in directly at outlook.msstate.edu.

Wireless internet access is available in most indoor and outdoor spaces through the MSU eduroam network. Connect by choosing the eduroam wireless network, then use your netid@msstate.edu email address (ex. sss162@msstate.edu) and NetPassword to log in.

Canvas is MSU's learning management (online course) system, providing students access to online course content (documents, videos, lectures, assignments, etc.). Access Canvas using the Classroom tab in the myState portal or directly at canvas.msstate.edu.

Log in to your Microsoft 365 account at office.com or m365.msstate.edu with your official MSU email address (netid@msstate.edu) and NetPassword to access the following services:

Student Advantage

This program allows students to download and use the Microsoft Office suite of products on up to five personal computers. Click the Install Office button in the top right of the M365 portal to download.

Microsoft OneDrive for Business

OneDrive is Microsoft's cloud storage system. Use OneDrive to store, access, share, and collaborate on files. MSU students have 250 gigabytes of OneDrive cloud storage space available. Access OneDrive by clicking the OneDrive icon in the M365 portal.

Office Online Apps

Microsoft Office Online is a collection of web-based apps available to create, collaborate, and edit files using your web browser. Access the online Office apps by clicking on the Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. icons in the M365 portal.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams allows users to chat and collaborate with other users via instant message, audio/video calls and online meetings. Teams also integrates with OneDrive to allow for real-time, multi-user file editing and sharing from within chats and meetings. Teams is available as a desktop app, a smartphone/tablet app, and via the web by clicking the Teams icon in the M365 portal.

ITS provides MSU site-licensed software for students. Visit servicedesk.msstate.edu/software to see a list of available software for download/installation. You can also visit our Software Service Catalog.

MSU uses multi-factor authentication via Duo to provide an extra security measure when accessing MSU services. Once you've provided your NetID/NetPassword, you're prompted to authenticate with Duo using either the Duo Mobile app, a hardware token, or a multi-factor bypass code to log in.

Webex is an audio/video conferencing and collaboration application for desktop and mobile devices.

MSU offers BullyPrint as a printing service to currently enrolled students (enrolled in the current or upcoming term), allowing them to print to different departmental printers for a fee. The charges are posted to the student's Banner account.

Access the BullyPrint website to see available printers by visiting bullyprint.its.msstate.edu.

If you are unable to log in to MSU sites such as myState, Canvas, Banner, etc., there are a few things to check that might be causing an issue. Please refer to the KB Article.

Maroon Alert is the university’s emergency notification platform and uses texts, emails, phone calls, and more to inform the university community of imminent or existing dangers.
