myBanner for faculty is your gateway to our student information system that will allow you to view scheduling, reports, registrations, grades and absences, student record and other classroom management features. It is critical to faculty teaching success to become familiar with this application and its features. Listed below are the top tips to use myBanner for Faculty effectively. myBanner for faculty is accessed by visiting the MSU portal, myState at my.msstate.edu and logging in with your NetID and NetPassword. Once myBanner appears, click the option myBanner for Faculty along the top.

myBanner for faculty has six columns that all have numerous helpful tools and features:
- scheduling
- reports
- registration
- grades and absences
- student records
- class management.
Top Ten Tips
- Use the Scheduling column to view the Course Catalog and Master Class Schedule. Additionally, the Building and Room schedule is very helpful.
- On the Reports column there are numerous reports that can be run such as transfer transcript reports for a student and enrollment counts.
- The Registration column is one of the most frequently used. Here faculty can class rosters, faculty class schedule, and advisor assignments.
- Use the Class roster tool to view class enrollments. Rosters can be viewed in the browser or saved to Excel. One feature is to view Class Roster with Photos.

- On the class rosters student's names are hyperlinked. Clicking on the hyperlink shows general student information such as ACT scores, GPA, home address and more.

- Setup Attendance Tracking from the Grades and Absences column. This feature works with or without classroom scanners and provides absence information and detailed records about each student, including an email address and picture. - Use the functionality to Transferring Grades from Canvas to myState (Banner). Please note that a user must have the proper access in Canvas and Banner to do the grade transfer. More information on setting up grade transfer and an instructional video can be found below:
- From Student Records faculty can view student schedules and information, holds and transcripts. From the General Student Information option, faculty can search by name or NetID to view a student information page which includes personal information, previous grades, GPA, and schedules

- From the Classroom Management column, classroom assistants can be added from the Manage Class Assistants option. Class assistants will be granted access to enter class absences as well as Progress grades. Please note they cannot enter Final Grades. Detailed directions are below:
- From the Classroom Management column, class email lists can be created with the entire course roster to more easily communicate with their students. Important note - the email lists take overnight or up to 24 hours for the creation process to complete.
- From the Classroom Management column, faculty can add, remove or edit their course syllabus.
