Crestron AirMedia is a wireless presentation system that allows users to cast content from laptops, smartphones, or tablets directly to a room's display or projector. It eliminates the need for cords, enabling seamless "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) collaboration in educational settings.
Crestron AirMedia is compatible with mainstream laptops such as Windows 11 and macOS 10.12 or newer. You can share your screen via native protocols (Apple AirPlay or Miracast for Windows) and the Crestron AirMedia app.
To use Crestron AirMedia, power up the ITS supported classroom lectern Crestron panel.
Using Apple AirPlay (iPhone, iPad, or Mac)
1. Touch the Crestron AirMedia icon on the Crestron panel. Note the IP address and code displayed on the screen.
2. Open the Crestron AirMedia app on your iOS device, type the IP address, and tap Present with AirMedia.
3. Open your device's control center and tap screen mirroring.
4. Select the room's IP address from the list and enter the code when prompted.
Using Windows Wireless Display (Miracast)
1. Touch the Crestron AirMedia icon on the Crestron panel. Note the IP address and code displayed on the screen.
2. On your Windows PC, press the Windows Key + K to open the wireless device list.
3. Select the classroom you are in.
4. Enter the code to pair and project.
Security: The data connection from the sender is encrypted and can only be decrypted by an authorized AirMedia device. In conjunction with wireless access poit security, AirMedia content cannont be secretly eavesdroped by non-authorized parties.
Troubleshooting:
"Why is there no sound on my Crestron AirMedia?"
Have you checked your sound settings? In the AirMedia app (not your device's settings) check the volume level and make sure it is not muted.
To disconnect from Crestron AirMedia, select Disconnect to disconnect from the device.
