Key benefits include:

• Secure AI assistance for work, academic, and administrative tasks.
• Enterprise data protection for university information.
• Access to generative AI capabilities at no additional cost for Microsoft 365 users.
• Once signed in, Copilot operates under MSU's agreement with Microsoft and can be used with institutional data.
• Your data is not used to train Microsoft's underlying AI models when you are signed in with your MSU credentials.

To ensure your data is protected sign in to Copilot using your MSU account (select your work or school account, not a personal Microsoft account).

• Additional cost for licensing.
• Integrated across your Microsoft 365 applications, providing enhanced capabilities beyond the free version.

Key benefits include:

• Access to Copilot within Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to securely leverage the information you already have access to, including:
  • Emails
  • Files and documents
  • Teams chats and messages
  • Other organizational content available to you
• More comprehensive, context-aware responses and insights based on your work-related information

How to Obtain Copilot Premium 

• Departmental Purchase Form ($216 per user per year, prorated; available to faculty, staff, and students).
• Personal Purchase Form  ($216 per user per year, prorated; available to faculty, staff, and students).

Once you purchase the license, please allow 24 hours for the premium features to be allocated to the account.
